1580644 Jesus prays for a second time – Matthew 26:40-46, Mark 14:37-42, Luke 22:45-46, Friday April 15 A.D. 29 Jerusalem
And when he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief. He said to them and to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Why do you sleep? What, could you not watch with me for one hour? Rise, watch and pray, that you do not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, a second time he went away, and prayed, saying the same words, “My Father, if this cannot pass away from me unless I drink it, your will be done.” And he came again and found them sleeping, for their eyes were very heavy. They did not know what to answer him. And he left them again, went away, and prayed a third time, saying again the same words. Then he came to his disciples the third time, and said to them, “Sleep on now, and take your rest. It is enough. Behold, the hour is at hand, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. Arise, let us be going. Behold, he who betrays me is at hand.”
