1850671 Moments after death of Jesus – Matthew 27:51-56, Mark 15:38-41, Luke 23:47-49, Friday April 15 A.D. 29  Jerusalem

And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom.  The earth quaked and the rocks were split.  And the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after his resurrection, they entered into the holy city and appeared to many.  Now when the centurion, who stood by opposite him, saw what was done, that he cried out like this and breathed his last, he glorified God, saying, “Certainly this was a righteous man.  Truly this man was the Son of God!”  And those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake, and the things that were done, feared much, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.”  And also, many women were there watching from afar, who had followed Jesus from Galilee, serving him.

Among them were both Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and served him; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.  And all his acquaintances, and the women who followed with him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.  And all the multitudes that came together to see this, when they saw the things that were done, returned home beating their breasts.
