1790665 2 Robbers are crucified with Jesus & label written by Pilate – Matthew 27:37-38, Mark 15:26-28, Luke 23:33-34;38, John 19:18b-22, Friday April 15 A.D. 29 Jerusalem
And then, when they came to the place that is called The Skull, there were two robbers and criminals crucified with him, one on his right hand and the other one on his left and they crucified Jesus there in the middle. And the Scripture was fulfilled, which says, “He was numbered with transgressors.”
Pilate wrote a title also, and put it on the cross. They set it up over him on his head the superscription inscription of accusation against him and it was written in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew: “THIS IS JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.” Therefore many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city. And the chief priests of the Jews therefore said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘he said, I am King of the Jews.’” Pilate answered and said, “What I have written, I have written.”
