1770663 Symon of Cyrene bears the cross – Matthew 27:32, Mark 15:21, Luke 23:26-32, Friday April 15 A.D. 29 Jerusalem
And as they came out, when they led him away, they found and grabbed one man of Cyrene, Simon by name (the father of Alexander and Rufus); passing by, coming from the country. And they compelled him to go with them, and laid his cross on him, that he might carry it after Jesus.
A great multitude of the people followed him, including women who also mourned and lamented him. But Jesus, turning to them, said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. For behold, the days are coming in which they will say, ‘Blessed are the barren, the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed.’ Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and say to the hills, ‘Cover us.’ For if they do these things when the tree is green, what will be done when it is dry?” And there were also two others, criminals, led with him to be put to death.
