1630649 Peter’s first denial, courtyard – Matthew 26:69-70, Mark 14:66-68, Luke 22:55-57, John 18:25, Friday April 15 A.D. 29  Jerusalem

And when they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.  And now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard below, and one of the maids, a certain servant girl of the high priest came to him, and saw him as he sat in the light.

Seeing Simon Peter standing and warming himself, she looked intently at him, and said, “You were also with the Nazarene Jesus, the Galilean!  This man also was with him.”  And they said therefore to him, “You are not also one of his disciples, are you?”  But he denied it, and said, “I am not.”  He denied it before them all, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.  I do not know what you are talking about.  I neither know, nor understand what you are saying.”  And he went out on the porch, and the rooster crowed.
