1520638 Jews plot to kill Jesus & Judas bargains to betray Jesus – Matthew 26:3-5;14-16, Mark 14:1-2;10-11, Luke 22:1-6, Tuesday April 12 A.D. 29  Jerusalem

Now the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, drew near.  And it was now two days before the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread.  Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas.  And they sought how they might seize him and took counsel together that they might take Jesus by subtlety, and put him to death.  But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there might occur a riot among the people,” for they feared the people.

Then Satan entered into Judas, who was one of the twelve and who was called and surnamed Judas Iscariot.  He went away and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them, and said, “What are you willing to give me, and I will deliver him to you?”  And they, when they heard it, were glad and agreed, and promised to give him money.  They weighed out for him thirty pieces of silver.  And from that time he consented, and sought opportunity to betray him, how he might conveniently deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
