1820668 Multitude mocks Jesus – Matthew 27:39-43, Mark 15:29-32a, Luke 23:35-37, Friday April 15 A.D. 29  Jerusalem

And the people stood watching.  Those who passed by blasphemed him, wagging their heads, and saying, “Ha!  You who destroy the temple, and build it in three days, save yourself!  If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross!”  And the rulers with them also scoffed at him.  Likewise the chief priests also mocking among themselves with the scribes and elders, said, “He saved others, but he cannot save himself.  Let him save himself, if this is the Christ of God, his chosen one!  If he is the King of Israel, let the Christ come down from the cross now, that we may see and we will believe in him.  He trusts in God.  Let him deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said, ‘I am the Son of God.’”  And the soldiers also mocked him, coming to him and offering him vinegar, and saying, “If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself!”
