1700656 Pilate questions the Jews – Matthew 27:11a, Luke 23:2, John 18:29-32, Friday April 15 A.D. 29  Jerusalem

Now Jesus stood before the Governor.  Pilate therefore went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this man?”  And they answered and began to accuse him, and said to him, “If this man were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered him up to you.  We found this man perverting the nation, forbidding paying taxes to Caesar, and saying that he himself is Christ, a king.”  Pilate therefore said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your law.”  Therefore the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,” that the word of Jesus might be fulfilled, which he spoke, signifying by what kind of death he should die.
