1252606 Jesus predicts his death – Matthew 20:17-19, Mark 10:32-34, Luke 18:31-34, A.D. 29 Perea
And as they were going up on the way to Jerusalem, Jesus was going in front of them. They were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. Again, he took the twelve disciples aside, and began to say to them the things that were going to happen to him. And on the way he said to them, “Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem and all the things that are written through the prophets concerning the Son of Man will be completed. For the Son of Man will be delivered up to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death, and will hand him over to the Gentiles, treated shamefully. And they will mock him, spit on him, scourge him, to crucify and kill him; and on the third day he will be raised up again.” And they understood none of these things. And this saying was hidden from them, and they did not understand the things that were said.
