0241002 Jesus heals a leper – Matthew 8:2-4, Mark 1:40-45, Luke 5:12-16, A.D. 27 Towns in Galilee

And Jesus went into their synagogues throughout and about in all Galilee, preaching and casting out demons.  He was teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all types of disease and all types of sickness among the people.  And the report about him went out into all Syria. And they brought to him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics, and those paralyzed; and he healed them. And there followed him great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and from beyond the Jordan.

And it happened, while he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a leper (a man full of leprosy) who came to him. And when he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and worshiped him, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “Lord, if you will it and if it is your will, you can make me clean.” And being moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying to him, “It is my will. I will and I want to. Be made clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed, and he departed and left from him, and he was made clean.  And Jesus strictly warned him and commanded him, and immediately sent him out and said to him, “See that you say nothing to any man and tell no man, but go your way, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the gift and the things according to what Moses commanded, as for a testimony to them.”

But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter.  The report concerning him spread so much more, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city but was outside in desert places.  And great multitudes came together to him from everywhere, to hear, and to be healed by him of their physical problems. But he withdrew himself into the desert and prayed.
